2025: A Landmark Year for Koinonia Mission Foundation
The year 2025 has been a milestone in the history of Koinonia Mission Foundation (KMF). For the past 33 years, KMF has faithfully supported global missions through prayer and financial partnership. But this year marked a significant shift—for the first time, our board members personally stepped into the mission field, laying the groundwork for long-term impact in Osaka, Japan.
This move was three years in the making. During that time, our team leaders worked diligently to build relationships with local churches in Osaka. These connections have opened doors for meaningful outreach, mutual encouragement, and the opportunity to host short-term mission teams.
In 2025, we hosted two mission teams—one in April and another in June—with participants from four different churches and two countries, including a member from Hong Kong. These teams not only experienced Japan’s beauty—such as cherry blossom sightseeing (ohanami) and the warmth of Japanese hospitality—but also made a lasting impact on the local church community.
Here are just a few highlights from our teams' involvement:
Shared the Gospel through personal testimony and outreach
Assisted a church plant in settling into a new facility
Laid new carpet for a local church building
Led Bible studies with local Japanese seekers
Supported English conversation outreach
Connected with new university students
Helped lead children’s worship and Sunday school at a new church plant
As the saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” Below are some captured moments from our recent trips—snapshots of God's work through the willing hands and hearts of those who answered the call to go.
